Biluthyrningsfirman Hertz har ökat sin globala vinst med tolv procent. En avgörande anledning är att de växlat stora delar av sin fordonsflotta till elbilar som är 50-60% billigare att underhålla än bensindrivna bilar.
The deal with GM for more electric vehicles puts them on track to complete Hertz’ electrification goals. It is the biggest single uptake commitment of EVs by a fleet customer to date, following an earlier commitment to 100,000 Model 3s from Tesla.
Earlier this year, Hertz announced a partnership with Polestar to buy 65,000 EVs.

Hertz confirmed that about 20% of the big 100,000 Tesla order it placed in October last year had been fulfilled. Even with 20,000 cars delivered, the benefits of EVs from a maintenance point of view are already becoming apparent for fleet operators.
